Are you guys allowed BYOD in IBD?

Just started in Capital Markets and was issued a company phone. I absolutely hate having to walk around with two phones on me, and it appears I'm not allowed to switch to BYOD because I'm a "regulated employee".

This seems a little ridiculous.. do you guys bring both of your phones around with you all day one in each pocket? Is this just my Bank? I hate having a secondary phone I use for almost nothing - feels like a house arrest anklet.

I think at Moelis in 2015 we were given an option to BYOD but the necessary things needed to put on our device to make it work made it that basically everyone chose a 2nd device from what I remember. At HL in 2019 I think BYOD was the only option. Both of these were investment banking advisory

Funniest

Yes, but i put both phones in the same pocket to compensate for something i dont want to get into. I also take both phones out whenever i sit at a table and stack them on top of each other. If the person across from me is too dimwitted to realize the width of that block is 2x i deliberately put them side by side or in other arrangements until it prompts the question “oh you have 2 phones?” To which i always humbly reply “oh haha yeah it’s nothing. Im an investment banker. Goldman Sachs. Top bucket. PE offer.” and shyly put both phones back into my pocket (with both ringers on). If either of them rings i take both out, 1 in each hand to check simultaneously so people know im important
