As an intern, how do you tell/guess who’s in the top bucket?

What are some indicators to tell who’s in the top bucket?

Want to find role models to follow - learn what behaviors/practices can help me get a return offer and get me into the top bucket.

When everyone knows a lot more than I do, it’s tough to tell who’s exceptionally good.

isn't it obvious? If you been on the desk observing you can probably tell

Can’t really tell - guess I need more guidance on what to look for.

For example, everyone’s work product looks great to me, they all stay late, they all joke around.

I kind of sensed that those who are less busy might not be in the top bucket- vs those who are on shitty and demanding and no-name deals are top bucket because only they can handle that. Would appreciate validation on my hypothesis.

From my time interning, I would say depends on the office ofc. But in my office, did not matter if you were doing real work like a revenue build or CIM vs doing due diligence and redacting a pdf. In the end, did you highlight the correct words, did you cross out "two" instead of "too". Tbh doing the bare minimum is good enough for a return, your concern should not be am I a top bucket intern, it should be am I good enough to get a full time offer. If they give you good feedback during mid summer review, then just keep doing what you are doing. Do not ask for more fucking work, just do what you are told and do a good job.
