Ask for Career Advise for IB in Calgary, Canada

Hi all,I recently graduated from Haskayne school of Business, University of Calgary with a dual degree, BComm in Finance and BSc in Applied Mathematic. (Jun 2021)

I want to break into IB in Canada, preferably in Calgary. I believe my School is not a Target School and nobody knows it outside of Calgary. Therefore, I hope to get advice and suggestion from you guys to help me break into IB.

Following is a brief introduction of my background: 1. First year GPA is around 2, which made my CGPA is little bit low. 2. Major GPA in finance around 3.87. 3. I completed my final year in university when I have one full time job as an supervisor in supermarket. (Still not sure how to convert this experience into an banker resume, like leadership(co led a team of 10-15 people), time management skill, or quick learner?) Final year GPA is 3.81/4, in 14 courses include spring term. 4. No any banking relevant experience. 5. I have two years of entrepreneurial experience and set up a small investment company(Capital:200kCAD) with two classmates. We look for viable investment opportunities in stocks, digital currencies and restaurants(analyze opportunities by financial theory we learn in school such as DCF model, LBO model). I dropped out two year late because courses were getting harder. 6. CFA 2021 Nov Candidate.

The lack of intern and Coop's experience is due to the fact that I have always had a part-time job while I was at school.

Is there any chance of getting into IB in my situation? Will taking some modeling courses help me get into IB? Or CFA?Should I started from Retail Bank for gaining experience and join IB later?Thank you all for valuable comments.

In the end, which modeling course is more valuable? CFI? BIWS? WSP? or WSO?
