Asking for Feedback in the "Thank You" Email
After completing first, second, third rounds, or even superdays, when sending thank you emails out to your interviewer is it appropriate to ask for any feedback they would be willing to share. Or would you guys recommend against doing so as it puts interviewers in a bit of an awkward spot as they likely aren't supposed to give preferential treatment to any one candidate.
It's not like it can hurt you. Worst thing they can do is not reply. I've only ever gotten it once because the person really liked me - I messed up with an MD who thought I lied about something. Kind of a bummer since it could have been fact checked easily to show I was telling the truth but oh well.
I know some places' HR prevent interviewers from discussing candidate interview performance with candidates or other employees not involved in recruiting - would expect all do
It can't hurt and shows initiative, but don't expect to receive any. My BB doesn't allow us to give feedback for legal reasons
