Associate base is 120k at most big 6, flat through the entire associate stint. CIBC might be lower, Scotia as well. Total comp is 250k to 350k. Globals pay the same sliding scale as the US (but in CAD). Generally 150k, 175k, 200k base. Total comp is closer to 300k-400k.
Not OP, but just curious as to why CIBC and Scotia comp is below street? Is this true at the analyst level as well?
it's just base salary that's a little lower, all-in is pretty similar. And analyst base is the same. NBF analyst base may be a little higher actually
Thank you. Do you have a sense of how much does NBF offer to its junior folks relative to other b5? I have also heard it’s above market, but not really sure. Cheers
They pay slightly higher for analyst base and probably comprable to RBC for all in, which is slightly above Street (TD too). Not sure about associate, but doubt we are really talking meaningful differences from Street all in. The base is the same as RBC, BMO, TD. I hear that BMO pays its associates all cash though, not sure if that's true. If that's the case, their all in should be around what RBC is in terms of cash if not a touch higher.
Hey, Just wanted to ask if the junior banker Associate increases were also made in Canada? If anyone knows.
I've heard this has happened yes. Don't have solid numbers but have heard it's happened pretty much across the board.
Global banks in Toronto pay ~C$210, 240, 270 base across the associate 1-3 levels these days (CAD "equivalent" to US$175, 200, 225 at their US offices). Base a lower % of total comp but still comfortably ahead of Canadian banks (on average).
Would you happen to know if Goldman Sachs pays the same with FX adjustment or straight 1:1 USD to CAD
Why does Toronto pay so low yet the cost of living is so high? Those are below analyst salaries once you convert to usd in most of the USA.
U.S. firms get more business and for a higher value.
Anyone know numbers for BAML/Citi?
I believe RBC and TD bumped associate base to $135k earlier this year, not sure about the others
Can confirm this base number
Wonder what the whisper around Associate bonus is looking like.
