B. Riley Thoughts? (Comp, culture, exit opps, growth of firm)

I will be joinning B. Riley as a FT IB analyst this fall. Wanted to know what's the word on the street about the firm? They recently acquired FocalPoint and their IB revenues have increased 2.5x YoY.

They also hired VPs and upwards heavily from Lazard, HL, BGL, Lincoln, Macquarie, UBS etc

Pay is below street and exits are pretty much none. If you want to go PE you have to lateral to another bank and redo your 2 years. I've knew a few people who worked in NYC and all left to lateral to another IB job

Not really a true investment bank doing advisory. Basically all ECM work which is reflected by the (lack of) exits and prestige.
