Back into banking.. could use a little help!

All, I had stepped away from banking for a couple of years to take over a family business after my dad passed away due to covid.  Went from tech banking into running a 20 person trucking company!  Great learning experience.  Proudest professional achievement but I had to leave suburban Ohio.. back into New York and back into tech banking.  I am a senior VP at a small-mid caps investment bank doing largely public offerings with some origination responsibilities.  I'm feeling hella lost having been away for 3 years.  Sadly, there's no good reading materials on equity offerings as a practitioner.  Please let me know if you think otherwise.  I claimed that I can hit the ground running so now I am afraid to ask "dumb questions."  How do I know what sort of equity raise (CMPO, RD, follow-on, PIPE, etc.) to recommend to a client? Really need some help there...  additionally, how do you sift thru good or bad prospective clients? what specifics about a company do you look for? or conversely what are things to avoid?

Would really appreciate any guidance.. or any recommendations for reading materials or books.  again, I can't seem to find anything for mid to senior level investment bankers.  It's either stuff on valuation/modeling or very theoretical/academic stuff.

Kindly,

PS
