Background Check Based on First Resume or Updated Resume

I recently got an offer at a BB bank and need to complete the background check once they email it to me. I was wondering, do the background check websites make you input your employment information (such as dates or titles of prior employment) or do they just want you to provide previous references/ paystubs to prove employment? I was wondering because an internship I completed this past summer was initially supposed to run for three months and it ended up running for 4 instead. They had me submit an updated resume with the new dates, but If they were to ask me for the dates again on the background check I don't know which resume the third party would be looking at to complete it. Just trying to avoid being flagged for anything, would love any words of advice from those who already have been through it!

Aware this is an old post, but I am also wondering whether the background check company checks based on the information you give them, as opposed to the initial CV sent to the bank when applying? My CV has changed quite a bit between sending it as part of my application and getting an offer (doing a different masters but at the same school) and I am worried that my offer would get rescinded based on this. Would it be advisable to submit an updated CV or would this open a can of worms? Thank you so much for any light on this
