Background Check Based on First Resume or Updated Resume
I recently got an offer at a BB bank and need to complete the background check once they email it to me. I was wondering, do the background check websites make you input your employment information (such as dates or titles of prior employment) or do they just want you to provide previous references/ paystubs to prove employment? I was wondering because an internship I completed this past summer was initially supposed to run for three months and it ended up running for 4 instead. They had me submit an updated resume with the new dates, but If they were to ask me for the dates again on the background check I don't know which resume the third party would be looking at to complete it. Just trying to avoid being flagged for anything, would love any words of advice from those who already have been through it!
If you completed an internship that lasted 4 months, I would submit a resume that says you completed an internship that lasted 4 months
They wont hold something against you for working more. Lying the other way around might have been bad but you'll be fine either ways.
Aware this is an old post, but I am also wondering whether the background check company checks based on the information you give them, as opposed to the initial CV sent to the bank when applying? My CV has changed quite a bit between sending it as part of my application and getting an offer (doing a different masters but at the same school) and I am worried that my offer would get rescinded based on this. Would it be advisable to submit an updated CV or would this open a can of worms? Thank you so much for any light on this
this should be fine and the truth is that it depends - often times the company asks you to resubmit a CV ahead of the background check.
Would you get flagged for listing an internship that got canceled due to COVID. Submitted my resume before the internship started and it eventually got canceled. Or, would I be fine just indicating this in my updated resume submitted pre-background check?
same question. I had an internship that got canceled, would they still check on that or should I provide an updated resume?
how was it on ur CV if it was cancelled??
Would be fine so long you have something to back it up :) - ie a contract.
