Background check year off

I recently received/accepted an SA offer to a top BB (MS/GS/JPM). I am also taking the year off to intern and mentioned this during my interviews. Anyone think the gap in my transcript will raise a red flag to HR? Do these banks even ask for transcripts? I interned at another BB last summer and they didn't ask for transcript so not sure what they checked. Thanks in advance!

if you actually do intern then you will have stuff on your resume that explains this right?

or are you really just being a ski bum for the year?

since you mentioned this in interviews you should be good

No, this won't matter. Your background check will just consist of your enrollment at your institution, graduation date, and GPA typically.

Transcripts are usually only used with resume drops/in interviews. Your fine - congrats on the offer!

They are aware though of the fact that a GPA can vary quite a bit from the time you applied to the time you signed right? At least in the German system you don't have any degree in your penultimate Bachelor year and the GPA provided is just a weighted average of all exams written to date. It turns out that we wrote mos exams just after I applied and so my GPA is a little different now.

Since then there has been no new ranking, but the Top 10% of my class was 100% up to date when I sent it.

In my experience, HR doesn't fret over details and they have bigger things to worry about...plus a person booted equals more work for them to bring someone else in under short notice. BUT, I'm just a paranoid person and holding onto that top offer like a golden ticket.
