Baird Raises Analyst Comp
Figured I’d make a thread, Baird bumps analyst comp 20k. First years now make $110k base. Interested to see if Jefferies and William Blair follow suit.

Dang. Seems like every bank is raising the base now. If Jef and WB don't they'll be left behind.
I always though Jef was a little behind
Jefferies pls fix. Give that sweet pay raise.
JEF has always paid a little above street at analyst level and significantly above street at ASO+ level. I’d expect them to announce a bump.
Behind in pay? no. Behind overall? No way (could make a case that it is the best MM bank).
highest base on the street now?
is it 110 or 115?
First years make 110, everyone else 115
So they're not keeping base constant anymore. interesting
Has Blair not announced anything yet?
Blair gave a 20k spot bonus in spring.
I feel like a 20k/yr salary bump is much more substantial
Holy Moly. Assuming Associates getting bumped up too? Any idea those figures?
Supposedly they bumped to $225k base for associates per Litquidity, jesus
Actually $200k - looks like OP fixed above. Confirmed with that matrix.
Holy fuck
So now BAIRD is paying a higher base than EVR, PJT, even CVP....... would be shocked if those guys don’t bump up bases to 120 or something asap
baird used to pay higher than cvp and was in line with evr and pjt prior to the base increases. CVP was at 85 and others + baird were 95
Spoke with a good buddy who works there:
Analysts bumped to $110k first year and $115k for non-first years
Associates bumped to $200k base
VPs bumped to $250k base
This is following the summer bonuses ($10k, $15k, $20k for AN, AS, VP)
Really strong move on their part.
$225k for associates?!!! What is all in comp normally like?
Top performers have cleared 400 in prior years.
Correction to poster above: $200k for associates. Rest looks good.
Is this a troll or not because if not let me go ahead and submit my resume rn. Imagine pulling that comp in MKE
Pros: get paid a shit ton of money
Cons: have to live in Milwaukee
Can confirm. Great morale booster!
For all offices and groups?
This is not a troll - Baird pays extremely well... particularly for top performers from what I hear.
Can anyone confirm plz?
Confirmed.
What would you expect an average first-year associate bonus to be with a $225k base?
Hopefully BMO follows suit
Gotta wonder if other banks increase what they already increased. $225k base a good chunk more than $175k.
$225k Aso base all years is absurd when most out here paying $150k-$175k for A0/A1.
Looks like ASO is actually $200k (not 225)
Sounds like their bonus is significantly lower? VP above mentioned 100-125K
If other MMs follow suit, would HL bump up base again?
They won’t follow Baird always pays higher fixed comp
Good for Baird. They’ve been getting some shit lately since they bungled by over-firing during covid but this ought to help morale! Can’t believe folks will be pulling that comp in Chicago and Milwaukee. Little spot bonuses are great, sure, but this is substantial enough to be truly meaningful
I think so.
How significant is profit sharing at the Associate level? Anyway, this beats out Rothschild now as highest An1 base, but Rothschild NA is based in New York, and Baird is in Chicago and Milwaukee so much better bottom line.
JEF and Blair need to respond
Agreed. Getting a little annoyed at Blair now for not even saying anything now that Baird made this killer move and 3/9 BBs are at 100k AN1 Base and two others have at least grown their base to some extent.
Which are the 3? I think Citi are Barcap are 2 of them
Jefferies really needs to respond here with the year they're having would be unbelievable if they didn't increase comp. Blair as well especially with baird as their closest competitor. RBC also at 95k, list goes on...
Does working at baird suck though? 225 base for associates...damn.
Are there trade offs.?
Baird associates also get ESOPs, and they’ll pay for your MBA if you come back (for people who did A2A)
