BAML LevFin and FSG Placement this Cycle
Drawing inspiration from the on-cycle recruiting page, how did baml levfin and fsg in NY place for pe and hf this cycle? I'm interning at the bank this summer and I've heard that levfin and fsg are the strongest placing groups at the bank so curious about recent performance ---

Alum from my school worked there and is in PE now. PM if you want details but it’s a good firm, just not a megafund. (I don’t think he wanted a MF, I think he is very happy and can confirm great placement.)
The bigger question is why you would want to join such a procyclical group at this point in the cycle...
What makes you say those groups are procyclical. Yes, the ticket sizes may shrink but ultimately sponsors are going to have to do deals to realize their returns (as low as they may be). Isn't that where the old motto "buy low, sell high" stems from anyway?

I can tell you from first hand experience that BAML Lev Fin and FSG place very well for MF PE. Obviously, you still need to have stuff to show for, but you're definitely not in an disadvantage when recruiting for PE, if you're in one of those groups. I'm not in the stage where I'm recruiting for PE, but very strong deal flow is both teams. Constant exposure to MF deals.
