Banking and Body Changes

Ive been summering for about 1 month in IB, consistently averaging around 95 hours a week. I havent been able to balance my social life properly. As a result I ve noticed myself changing. It actually feels like Im hitting puberty again. In fact the last time I was with my girlfriend, she said I'm "different" and Im guessing both personality-wise and bed-wise. Anyone have similar stories? Or am I just not biologically built for this job. The last thing I want to have is an erectile dysfunction problem by 24.

on a more serious note, did you ask her if she meant different in bed? of course she'll think you're different when you barely see her working 95hr weeks. like many people have said on WSO, if it's going to work at all she needs to understand the job and the demands it has. if she doesn't, she'll pull the "oh..you're so different now" crap.

I didnt ask her if she meant different in bed, but Im pretty sure it's part of the problem. She understands how demanding the job is, but we werent ready to take a toll in THIS regard. We're only 20 ffs

It breaks your body, crushes your mind, and swallows your soul.

I've seen some crazy shit in this business amongst analysts. Aside from the usual shit of weight fluctuations, I've seen ulcers develop, I've seen people work through sickness to the extreme detriment to their health.

I'd argue that the emotional and spiritual toll of the job is even worse than the physical punishment.

If you're going through it again, shouldn't you be having a problem keeping it down?

The problem is obviously stress. The obvious solution would be sleep more, but since that isn't possible, you should:

a) make sure you're eating healthy (when I first saw your post, I thought it'd be about getting fatter).

b) drinking a lot of water

c) practicing some breathing exercises or other stress relief that can be done in the office.

make sure you sleep and exercise as much as possible on the weekend. i wouldn't advise taking vacation during the summer, but if you work FT, take a day here or there to decompress.

and get good at cunnilingus.

If you're used to variety, having a longer-term relationship will have that effect. I can go 6-8 times a night for a good 2-4 hours total at first but once the excitement wears off, I have issues there too. I would last maybe a couple of minutes and wouldn't be nearly as hard. Forget about going more than twice. It was really pathetic and if I hadn't already destroyed this girl, I would have felt like a eunuch.

You'll get your mojo back; it only lasted a week or two for me. This coincided with much longer work hours and in my case my body adjusted.

Find a hot twenty year old and see if you can't hang a towel off it.
