Like everything else, deal flow tends to correlate with culture (better deal flow = worse culture).

EVR/JEFF - Best deal flow & exits, but consequently soul crushing culture.

MoCo - sacrifices some deal flow, but has significantly better culture. I think on a ‘deal flow per culture’ basis it is significantly better than vast majority of shops in Houston. Buddies there work less than me and get paid just as much as EVR lol.

Haven't worked in Chicago but would guess it's better... solely because Houston is well known for awful hours and culture.

There's a thread on here every single month about how horrible culturally Houston is and I've never heard bad things from Chicago friends. I'm sure there's some bad groups there but seems like Houston has a very high % of sweatshops compared to any other location

All of them, but JPM is particularly noteworthy in its brutal O&G practice down there.

If there’s a toxic workplace checklist, they fill every single box

JPM houston hands down. There’s a thread about this a while back about how toxic that office is.

Better than the notorious shops but not great. They have a good amount of support staff, especially for Houston, but they don’t have a ton of deal flow and are still expected to stay late in office. So, that leads to a situation where you have to be in the office late but aren’t getting as many deal reps as you should be.
