Can't go wrong with a coverage group at Barclays. I think the decision really depends on your industry interests.
1. Generalist exits: FSG, Industrials, CRG, and HC are likely the best, without considering industry.
2. VC/Growth opportunities: you'd obviously want to target the Tech group, but CRG, HC, and FSG are also decent.
3. Niche groups: NatRec and P&U are among the strongest on the street and exit to MF. FIG is also places pretty well. Would consider if you don't mind being pigeonholed in these industries.
I would also point out that many people do PE before joining a HF, as the major HFs hire out of top PE firms. Definitely take "wso's thoughts" with a grain of salt too.
