BB and a DUI
Hi everyone,
I recently received an offer at a high level BB. Early on in high school (more than 3 years ago) I got a misdeamnor DUI because my state has no tolerance, (less than .08 bac). I have a really good story my Dad passed away of cancer 3 years before this and I haven’t made any mistakes since and spent 2 years on probation and excellent academic performance. Should I disclose to HR or wait until I am asked about it? Any other general advice? Thanks, really worried need this job
Don’t disclose it. It’ll probably come up on your background check, but I’d put your odds at 99% no one says anything about it (assuming you didn’t lie on your application or something).
My friend just got admitted to the state bar with a high school DUI, which is wayyyyyy more stringent on ethical requirements.
I don’t think banks care that much about alcohol-related infractions.

Been in your shoes. Doesn’t matter. Disclosed mine on the form.
So I should disclose to Hr when they ask me for my background check info?
You can take either approach. I was preemptive because I could explain it rather than it being a surprise
And too confirm sorry last question this was a top BB? Like MS, GS, JPM, BoA, CS, Barclays?
