BB Background Check - I am screwed

I am a non grad hire into one of the BBs. Worked for many years in boutique IB.

Worked hard to be able to get an offer as an Associate into IB. But I am now worried about the Background Check.

Are the employment history checks 7 or 10 years long?

I worked in some no name non finance firms 8 or 9 years ago which have since gone bust. I have no paper work to be able to support my experience from those jobs that were between 8 and 9 years ago.

For the last 7 or 8 years I am fine. It's just the 8-10 year ago period that I cannot show evidence of.

Will the background check fail me?

This will be such a big setback for me!!

Anyone knows how these things work?

Appreciate it but for official purposes I think these go back for 10 years and not 7 years. So I could get screwed , let's see.

I am not sure if it is 10 years yet. I think it depends on the Bank. At GS it's 10 years.  This is not for GS.
