BB IB Lateral timing

Currently an analyst In a lower middle market coverage group interviewing with a top BB (MS/JPM//GS) for an analyst 1 position in the same coverage group

I’ve had about 4 touch points so far including 2 formal technical/behavioral interviews it seems the process will be done entirely online but unsure of how many more rounds to expect?

Based on the most helpful WSO content, lateral hiring processes for BB IB roles typically involve 2-4 rounds of interviews. Since you've already had 4 touchpoints, including 2 formal technical/behavioral interviews, you might be nearing the final stages. However, the exact number of rounds can vary depending on the group and firm.

For lateral hires, the process is often streamlined and can be completed in about 3 weeks. You may expect additional rounds, such as:

  1. Case Study or Modeling Test: Some firms include a case study or technical modeling test to assess your analytical skills.
  2. Final Round with Senior Members: This could involve interviews with senior bankers (VPs, Directors, or MDs) to evaluate your fit within the team and your understanding of the group’s focus.

Since the process is online, ensure you're prepared for potential virtual case studies or technical assessments. Good luck!
