BB SA'27 Background Checks

I just accepted an offer at a BB, but I'm scared about the background checks. I submitted my resume in December and had a new internship I was starting in January, so I listed it on my resume as Dec 2025-Present –– will this get my offer rescinded? Or can I explain it? Kind of freaking out right now, as I've never gone through a background check before.

Chill the fuck out bro lol.

Background checks aren’t out to nitpick minor date issues. Their goal is to verify that you actually go to the school you listed and worked where you said you did, and that u aren’t a convicted felon.

Listing an internship as Dec–Present when you were incoming is not a material misrepresentation. In the unlikely event it even gets flagged, they’ll just ask you to clarify and you explain you were starting shortly after submission. This happens all the time.

Offers get rescinded for fabricated experience, not this.

Take a chill pill and save the anxiety for the actual job, that’s where the real ass-kicking happens.

I see; that makes me feel so much better. I've read that the firm I'm joining is a bit nitpicky about background checks (they outsource to a 3rd party), so I had a mini freak-out moment lol...
