Heard through jungle-vine that at BB there was a potentially relatively attractive person in an intern class who caught the attention of some peers. A sexual meme circulated in a teams chat about said person. The person found out about the circulating photo + joke and went to HR. HR got some muscle and demanded that another intern either reveal the messages or they would not get a return. Long story short anyone who interacted with the message did not get a return, inevitably fucking over some kids.
Any truth to this? Obviously a shitty situation but have to know you're in a workplace and words / messages matter. Anyone ever had something similar happen?

Agree, maybe it was text in combination with teams or they just wanted to get somebody to flip instead of going through the process of auditing the messages. Not sure how that would work necessarily
Shitty situation for the kids who were caught in the crossfire for sure. But candidly, it’s hard to sympathize when everyone knows these Teams are monitored from Day 1 and that HR/Compliance can read everything.

Depends on what is meant by "interact"... in my opinion anyone who responded with a passive 'laugh react' (as every gen Z kid does to every message nowadays) should be punished far more leniently than those who actively distributed the meme.
Anyone who interacted in a way that wasn't "wtf guys this is gross/creepy/whatever" all should be treated the same imho, a passive laugh react is still "I thought this was funny enough to laugh at"
