Lol somebody's salty they didn't get an offer. Imagine thinking a multi-strategy fund with ~$70Bn combined AUM is mid. There were a couple analysts in my class a few years ago go work there after their analyst stints and I've only heard good things so far
Pretty phenomenal transaction that will fundamentally shift how they do business together imo. BDT is raising a massive $13B PE fund this year. With credit, RE, and growth funds, they're now a premier multi-strategy fund instead of just another UMM PE fund. Back when I was at GS, Byron and Gregg were both legends across the firm. Gregg / MSD held a bunch of the tech relationships so presumably the combined firm will be a big tech player now
Win win for both parties. BDT taps into credit and real estate, and MSD expands to private equity + LP base / diversify from Dell. Good for Ardea to be in the middle of all this

All of this just to try and compete with PJT as the ultimate initials-naming-convention firm
Fascinating. Thing a big plus for both firms. Huge step up for BDT.
Going forward please refer to them by their new name, BSD & Co
LOOOOL
Damn, beat me to it.
Does anyone’s perspective of BDT change because of this? Had recruited there earlier this year

GS represented pretty well in all of this given all of these firms are led by ex-GS bankers
