Being conservative at wall street.

Brief background: I am currently pursuing a high quality MSc engineering degree with computer science and economics whilst receiving very good grades at a quality university. I've also got a summer associate internship in a big bank this summer. My current goal is to get into GS or one of the major banks in the US or London, grind there for maybe 5 years and then hopefully get into PE. I am also somewhat of a conservative and I am a Christian, however not in any way a zealot.

My question for you guys who have been in IB/PE for some time now: I constantly see that companies are changing their profile pictures during pride on FB and Linkedin. This is of course done in order to improve their PR and increase earnings, and its not really that companies actually cares about pride. That being said, does the higher ups accept that you have your own conservative views, granted that you don't mention them constantly. Do they accept that you are not really down with attending pride parades? I have no plan of sharing my political views with anyone at work, as I don't see it as a good idea. but if for instance someone asks me if I am going to attend a pride parade with them, is it accepted to turn it down and tell them you are conservative? Hopefully such questions are not even raised, but I cant help to ask them with respect to the current zeitgeist in NY. If it is not accepted in NY, is it accepted at IB's in more conservative states, like TX?

TLDR; Is it accepted at wall street to be a conservative (not a bigot) who holds a traditional view on marriage? I am of course going to be friendly to gay people (I dont have any hostile feelings towards them), and I have no plan in sharing my views if others are not asking me.

I would keep my views to myself if I were you. In a professional setting, definitely don't express your views as it could be taken the wrong way. If you don't want to attend a pride festival, that's cool but come up with a different excuse besides "I'm conservative". Perhaps you are just busy and can't attend because you have other things going on
