being on the "reserve candidate" after superday

It's Europe bank, not American BB. So I went to superday in early Feb, and they said they will make decisions "very quick within a week. After 2.5 weeks I still have not heard back. I emailed other candidates, and apparently some got an offer, some already got rejection emails. For me, nil. So I'm guessing I'm the reserve option for the bank.

Question: Should I tell bank that I have offer from elsewhere, so I need to make decision, but if they DO offer me, I'll take it? Truth is, I don't have other offer, but would this mean I get the offer from bank which I otherwise wouldn't? Or would they just think "yeah go away we don't need you".

I must admit I'm not a star candidate, so I don't think they'd 'miss' me. So should I just wait?

If you're desperate, go for it champ. Otherwise, pick up a 30 pack of canned beers and wait next to the phone. Good luck.

hey man; i just went through the same process as you. i interviewed with a BB in late Jan. and the result was supposed to come out the night of. I didn't get a call so i thought it was over. However, the HR lady called me the day after and told me that i was "still in". Three weeks later, I got the offer call. So just follow up with them and be faithful.

And also i'd recommend that you be discreet and honest about telling them your other "offers".

good luck

estalol, at least you got a call saying "still in", whilst I didn't get anything. I actually did email the HR lady to thank them, and also ask if they sent me the result by mail, because I haven't heard from them (just a nice way of chasing up I guess). But they didn't respond to my courtesy email.

I'm not worried they contact others. I can say I got a job from Japanese bank 'overseas' and I'm 99% sure they can't check up. But I don't want to lie as many suggested.

Well, the only question is whether or not to call them and honestly tell them that I have no other offer, so I'll take it if they give me. This shows i'm being faithful but it also look like i'm so desperate.

keep u guys posted.
