Best apartment complexes/places to live for incoming first year analyst in Houston?

Title sort of says it all. Any recommendations on neighborhoods or specific apartment complexes to live for an incoming first year analyst? Looking to get either a 1BR or 2BR with a roommate. Trying to spend under $1500 - $1700/month out of my pocket all in.

Montrose, midtown, downtown (maybe)

Midtown is where the majority of the bars and nightlife is. Montrose is similar and close to midtown. Downtown has improved with some new apartment complexes and nightlife, but can be dead sometimes.

Montrose: Can't go wrong with some of the new buildings, La Colombe D Or, Hanover, Driscoll (further from town but still close)

Midtown: Any of the newish buildings west of Main St.

Downtown:  If you go this route you'll probably be able to find some more obscure condos for rent in the older buildings with better pricing but less (if any) amenities. Market Square Tower (expensive), The Rice, The Star, Marlowe
