I often see people suggesting to take a BB over an EB if they are unsure about their future in finance. If someone is deadset on an EB, however, which one do you think has the best name recognition outside of IB/finance?

Maybe Lazard slightly because they are the oldest, but in reality none of them have any name recognition outside of finance. I would not let this in any way affect your decision.

For Europe it's easily Rothschild. Because of the family name, the prestige among people outside of finance is huge.
None of them really, but I'd say Evercore, Lazard, and Rothschild have more name recognition than the other EBs (Evercore and Lazard because they're larger, Rothschild because of the family name attached to the firm).
In the US, Rothschild may oddly have the most and the least name recognition. Everyone knows the name Rothschild but I doubt many people know what Roth & Co does. Most probably just think it is a private bank serving the ultra wealthy.
Fun fact: Rothschild SA's are given injections every week to transform them into shapeshifting lizards DNA wise; however, if you leave before A2A, they will kill you and replace you with a clone that doesn't have the memories of the injection.
Probably Lazard for EU due to heavy sovereign-related work.
Lazard... they've been around for so long and have always been what they are. Many of their top bankers go into top Government positions and do influential shit.
Rothschild for sure. Even in the U.S, if you tell people you work for rothschild they can immediately deduce its something prestigious. In Europe, its even more-so.
