Best HC group?
I am incoming SA at a BB but wanted to understand how people would rank the healthcare groups across BB / EB in terms of prestige, exit opps, and culture!

Thoughts on Citi HC?
---
Evercore is much better than MS HC lmao
Dude they did less deals than ubs
More like for BB
GS/JP>MS>Citi=CS=BAML>Barclay>UBS>DB
How does SVB rank compared to these.
JPM = GS >> MS >>> BofA, Barclays >>>>>> CS, UBS, DB
Learn to read a league table....
How would you rank the EBs for HC?
Centerview (even though generalist) is probably the best since they do all the large cap pharma deals.
Then Lazard, then Evercore and the rest are probably interchangeable.
2021 League Tables in deal volume and fees would list the BBs in the following order:
GS, JPM, MS, BAML, Citi.
GS narrowly beats out JPM (actually for the 6th year in a row now). MS comes ahead of BAML and was on more advisory leads than BAML which had a larger chunk of financing work.
For the EBs. Centerview shined in sell side Biotech. Evercore also did well and also got a fair share in equity financing work. Guggenheim and Lazard after those. Moelis rarely makes a splash in league tables given most of their work is undisclosed deal value. One fun tidbit of info. Of the boutique banks, Jefferies and SVB actually led them all in terms of equity financing.
This ranking is purely subjective to league tables which frankly are only one small chunk of a greater pie when it comes to considerations. Each firm and group have differing cultures, views on recruitment, senior leadership habits, benefits, and clearly the personal side of mentors, alum, etc...Make a decision will all these things in mind.
Based on this kid’s comment history, stern, Guggenheim, GS HC, must be that hardo Asian kid just joined…
lol if only, didn’t even hear back from you guys after the SD. As an Asian though, not sure why their race matters in your description….

All the reputable boutiques kill it in HC
