Best Investment Banking schools in the Northeast

Excluding Harvard, Princeton, NYU & Yale

Preferably those that are transfer friendly, and obviously have solid alumni networks.

Provide a ranking if you can.

To add more insight, I’m at Finance major at Rutgers with a 3.7 Anything realistic option and good insight would be appreciated, thanks.

I was considering Cornell/Northwestern but I’m not confident I will get in.

Upenn/Wharton Cornell Columbia (no UG business school) Penn State Carnegie Mellon Rutgers (only if you get into their Wall Street Program)

I'm sure I missed a couple off the top of my head. And the list can be ranked differently but it will be something like that

Would you consider it worth it if I get into Rutgers Wall Street Program, I’m currently a freshman.

I am a freshman at a non-target in the south also looking to transfer. Do not know specifics on the program but I have a few Rutgers sophomore/upperclassmen connections on LinkedIn in the program that are getting into insight programs at top firms

Williams and Amherst take maybe 2 or three transfers each and that is out of hundreds of applicants. Pretty sure that is the same for every other school besides Columbia, Cornell, and Baruch.

There are specific schools which open up more spots for transfer students (cornell being one) such as: Vanderbilt, UCLA, Notre Dame, UNC, and many others that will position you well.

I would advice you stay away from large state schools if possible. You will have extreme competition at Penn State and Rutgers. I would look at smaller private schools such as BC, BU, and ivies if possible

Sounds like something someone from Baruch would say lol.. In all honesty, you can get onto a sell side program from any respectable school. It all comes down to networking and how much you're willing to put in on your own time.

UIUC is fairly transfer friendly and can prepare you well if you're accepted into the (selective) investment banking academy. All accepted members place into reputable banks, primarily in Chicago.
