Best sponsors group on the street (BB NY)?
which NY BB bank has the best sponsor's group on the street? Does sponsors actually provide better PE exit opps than any other industry/product group?
MS and Credit Suisse both have strong sponsors teams historically (in terms of analyst exits)
Does MS Sponsors do their own Execution?
Yes for sponsor financings, you don’t do any sellside work really (that’s handled by M&A + industry coverage)
What is the best in terms of work life balance?
MS, BoA, CS, DB all decent
I'm going to get MS for this but PJ Solomon (whom everyone is saying is going to be the next Centerview) just hired a lot of the top FSG bankers across the street and seems to be on par with the BBs if not top of the middle market now.
Sponsors teams historically are some of the best groups at any bank because they only work with PE clients. Also some of the groups don’t do their own modeling, in which case the job is more relationship magaement.
