Blacklists in Banking/Buyside At the Undergraduate Level

To preface, I don't think I've done anything that is blacklist worthy. With that being said, I guess I'm just curious as to what prompts a blacklist, especially in these industries. Are there certain actions or behaviors like not responding to a networking email or doing bad at a previous job that can completely sink you? Do banks talk about undergraduate candidates and can a negative thing at one bank impact your chances at other banks? I guess I'm just having anxiety that an impression of me can potentially f up my entire career in the entire industry.

A bad impression no, albeit there is some bias that a recently rejected candidate might not be worth the time for another interview. Further than this, I know for a fact that you'll get blacklisted if you try to hide key words in your resume to game the automatic filters that HR uses (firm dependant, of course).

If you take the job add, transpose it to GPT and tell it to give you the top key words of the role, then you get a list. If you take that list and put it in a corner on your resume and change the font to white to make it unseen to the human eye, but thinking that the AI filter will catch those words and label your application as a "strong fit" for the role (as the filter assumes those words were mentioned under responsibilities, hence relevant skillset), then you can get rejected once HR checks it. Depending on HR's mood, probably also blacklisted from the company for some time (an internal note on your profile in the portal is made). At least, that's a one of the models I am aware of. Probably they have more innovative filters since AI appeared. General advice, to be safe, is that whatever you do, do not try to outsmart or game HR if you rely on portals.

Went to an event with Dartmouth partners recently and this was discussed. Tldr is any kind of serious time wasting is usually a blacklist with that firm (i.e. reneging on an offer, no-show for interviews etc.)
Hope this is helpful!
