The ones that let you lateral
I've seen some BMO people on the lower end of MM firms, and it's definitely possible to do LMM PE. Anything else and you'd want to lateral
In NYC all the groups are weak as shit and they struggle for talent which is why they are like the first firm to recruit in the cycle. At my non target they fiend ocr and gave kids offers after first rounds didn’t even wait for super days. Deal flow is ass. You know it isn’t a good firm when 99% of the ocr presentations are about culture and diversity rather than the firms actual core competencies
this information couldn't be more wrong - stop talking as if you know what youre talking about when you are still in undergrad
None of them lol transfer to a different bank
Best bet would be M&A group consumer and retail is also kind of okay. The rest of the groups are very heavily debt focused BMO,Mizuho and Nomura are all the same Corp banking type roles with lots of loan syndication and dcm but little actual pure play advisory
FCR sits in Chicago. Best bet is HC or Industrials and then lateral after a year.
For context I am a college student, but I know the firm very well through their ocr which I interviewed for and the sheer amount of kids they pull from my school
Lol can confirm this as well. My school is a non-target but target for BMO and they didn't even do full fledged SD's this cycle. Gave offers to pretty much some of the weakest candidates at my school. Rejected the best applicants too prolly because they knew they wouldn't take it.
Valid point, but I literally interviewed with the firm and know several alumni that now work there. You know the situation is bad when they gave an IB SA offer to a freshman from a non target. They wanted a 2 year commitment so I didn’t take its
Just transfer to the Metals & Mining group in Toronto
