Based on the most helpful WSO content:

  • Hiring Status: BofA has been experiencing a decent amount of turnover and has increased headcount. However, there have been layoffs affecting less than 200 bankers globally as of February 2023. This indicates that while there may be some hiring, it could be part of a broader strategy to manage workload and balance staffing levels.

  • Group Insights: The BofA FIG group has seen improvements in work-life balance and culture. The fintech sub-vertical, in particular, has been highlighted for its deal flow and comps. However, the group has had a mixed performance in M&A deals, with some big deals at the end of 2020 and 2021 after a dry spell since 2018.

  • Hiring Process: Full-time hiring is mostly ad hoc and can be opaque. Banks often wait to hear back from their summer interns before making any hiring decisions. This means the process can be rolling, with multiple superdays for the same group. It's crucial to stay in touch with HR and analysts within the groups of interest.

Just become a cop in Delaware, starting salary is $85k no OT, you get to date single to be mothers with 2 kids minimum and opportunity to rise to staff sergeant by the time you would’ve finished associate stint.

This is very amusing.

I remember when this forum was in uproar and threatening to boycott BAML. I got pasted because I said it was generally limited to only a few groups that are that bad.

Now people are trying to recruit into the most notoriously bad team there?

The irony on this forum, Jesus Christ.

Dawg not everyone is lucky like you bro. Some people have no choice and BAML FIG is the best and ONLY option to elevate/save their career. #gameisgame

Thanks - hear back as in next steps or official rejection?

Confused because people are talking about super day / next steps already

This is mostly allocation / hiring for the banks team. The fintech team is moving to TMT. No first year analyst or associate selected banks vertical as a first choice…I wouldn’t go unless those UMB MDs were off the team.
