BofA/BAML/Bank of America Consumer Retail or Leveraged Finance?

Hi all - was wondering what people think about which of the two groups would be better to intern for. They are both top groups in their respective fields.

Both are fine choices, but exits are definitely better from Lev Fin if that is something you care about. C&R will outsource most live deal modeling to respective product groups, but you'll model a bit for some pitches (although this can still be done by M&A for example depending on the complexity of the pitch). Hours probably slightly better on average in Lev Fin. Really depends if you want to do coverage banking or not.

I haven't seen anyone exit to an HF from Lev Fin. If you want the broadest set of exits at BAML (incl. HFs), M&A would be your best bet. VC/Growth less doable from Lev Fin given different skillset, but Corp Dev should be doable. VC/Growth/Corp Dev all doable from C&R as I've seen people leave for each of those from that group. Lev Fin is mostly PE, direct lending, and distressed debt exits from what I've seen.
