Bonus hitting my account next week; bank cannot recall it once sent?
Maybe I'm being paranoid, but my bonus is going to hit my account next week (finally). I intend to put in my notice the day it gets paid out. It's not possible that the firm would/could recall the bonus, right? I know deposits say pending usually for a few hours; I just want to make sure I'm not fucking myself over by submitting my notice the same day. TIA.
haha i quit 2 months ago and im still getting a 100k+ bonus dw about it
I'm assuming you went through the full 2 year program though, right?
yea. check your offer letter/employment contract. what does it say regarding end of year bonuses?
honestly if you're at a respectable bank with no clawback provision in your employment contract you should be fine
Several people in my group quit the day the bonus hit their bank account and they got to keep it. You should be fine.
Would you mind letting us know what type of role you're moving into? Or are you lateralling?
Going to CD.
Dude just wait a couple days after the bonus hits? Move the money out of the account to a brokerage or something in the meantime?
My bank didn’t claw a bonus back or anything, but they did overpay me once. The money was immediately withdrawn from my account (I think it depends whether it’s checking or savings)
Wait until it doesn't say pending and you are fine. Bon voyage

How big of the pay cut is CD after a year?
Depends on the industry. Usually between 20-40%.
do you mind giving a salary range/pay cut range on your exit to CD? considering doing the same
Usually between 20-40%.
