Hi All,
I have an interview tomorrow for an M&A VP role on the TMT side. Everything about it sounds great, but there was one thing that caught me off-guard. The role is origination only. The JD literally has language that no execution will be part of this role. Now that initially sounded great, but is this really an M&A role, or is it sales/bus dev behind a Banking curtain?

Probably. To be fair, banking is a sales / relationship management job and at the VP level, that's what junior bankers are transitioning into.
Specific to this firm, I would be trying to gauge how they fill their pipeline, how much cold calling, if the role has revenue targets and things of that such.
