Buyside out of undergrad

Are buy-side analyst positions (pe/hf) on par with ib pay, especially with the recent increase in comp?

Thinking mostly in the range of >1bn aum sm funds to mf pe and everything in between.

Just as there are pay differences at different banks, there are pay differences in the buy side. BX, KKR, and WP are on par if not a little bit more than banking pay. On the other hand SLP does underpays their analysts from what I hear. The MMs, Citadel and DE Shaw, pay more than banking and most MFPE but job stability is less. Point72 does not pay that well compared to the first other MMs. There are probably other buy side shops that pay more than banking but I just laid out examples of a few that I am fairly certain pay more.
