Call with C-Suite
Hi everyone,
I recently got the opportunity to hop on a call with a C-suite of a major BB. I've been on a lot of "informational interviews" with analysts/associates/vps and a sprinkle of MDs, but any suggestions/precautions/warnings with a C-suite? Would be curious to hear what the community might say.
Woah, would you look at the balls on this guy?
Started calling analysts, asked for referrals, got all the way to a call with Jamie Dimon.
I’d ask how he still has hair at his age with the amount of stress he’s put under daily.
I’d base every single question you ask of of him and his experiences, NOT about you. For example: how has banking changed in the X years of your experience? NOT, How can I prove I can handle IB?
Good luck! Awesome opportunity for you.
Hey thanks for your advice OP here.
Just finished the call - asked a lot about his experience - surprised to say that he was a bit perplexed. He explicitly asked what exactly my purpose was in asking him about himself instead of the firm/recruiting tips. I've come to reflect that when you're calling very senior people should be very mindful of the exact purpose of calling/taking their time.
That's wild. Definitely not the same in my experiences. Hope it still went well.
I talked to a division head once. They're just people lol. Unless it's some jackass like David Solomon, just ask your normal questions and stuff about how they think the industry has changed during their tenure.
