Calling all my friends in DCM - Need advice

Hello all, I just accepted a lateral offer to a DCM at a BB. I come from a credit analyst background, and I got pretty lucky with this offer.

I start in a few weeks, and to be honest, I don't know too much about the bond markets. What should I do to best prepare myself for a DCM analyst role? Anything specific I should cover? I plan on following the bond markets and reading about bonds, but anything else specifically?

Would appreciate any insight from DCM bankers.

These primers are solid to understand the high yield bond market. I would also check out Fabozzi's work, specifically The Handbook of Fixed Income Securities.

I would also start following monetary policy closely, particularly what the Federal Reserve may do in the coming months/year. Also brush up on your PowerPoint and Excel skills.

I have a question for you: How did you lateral from a credit analyst to a BB IB role and what was your interview process like?
