Campus involvement without any e-board position?

I'm currently a sophomore at a non-target, long story short I had a lot of personal shit happen and I ended up going from a 4 yr -> CC->4 yr non target. Now since I had to drop out of school mid semester due a family emergency, I wasn't really involved at my first school, and with new obligations that limited my time while I was at a CC I was barely able to attend and didn't actually get involved outside of having an almost perfect GPA.

Now with much more free time I have dove head deep into getting involved at my new school, I was able to so far get a committee seat for a diversity business club, joined the schools finance society, joined some other business clubs, some other non business ones, and I'm currently in the process of joining the investment fund. Now since I actually know how to conduct myself and talk to people, I was able to make real good connections with most of the people currently on most of the e-boards, and will most likely be on every e board for most clubs. I'm confident that with my work ethic and drive, I will make a difference at every club that I'm involved with.

Now the problem is that the way these clubs are run, they pick their e-boards after the spring semester, therefore I wont have any e-boards on my resume during spring recruiting. Now my plan is to take "honorary" leadership anyways and improve the clubs as much as I can, and at least use my leadership actions and results to make up for the lack of being on the e-board. I'm also founding a club (non-finance), I was able to find like minded people who wanted to make a difference, and we are in the process of getting set up, I'm aiming to be a running club by Spring the latest.

Which brings me to my question, from what I understood from searching the forum and from word of mouth, is that campus involvement on your resume is not worth much unless you are on the e-board. Should I focus less time on clubs since I won't be able to get on the e-board this year or is being a member that generates results good enough to make up for lack of e-board position? Any opinions in general?

I'm currently still prioritizing networking, and trying to improve my banking knowledge and interview delivery.
