Shit PWP Culture
Interned at PWP this summer and the culture waa horrible. Zero interest from analysts when it came to helping interns. I received a return offer, but I know a couple of other kids who are re-recruiting even after accepting their return offer. Should I be doing the same? I’m not sure whether to risk the reputational damage of recruiting with already having signed.
I would return full-time, but would likely lateral after a year. I feel really misled because the firm was always sold to me as very strong culture wise. I would also mention that I’m not very confident in the firm deal flow is pretty bad

I had a coffee chat with one of only three alumni from my school who work at PWP and this guy was the biggest douchebag i've ever talked to. He genuinely seemed happy that nobody from our school would be getting interviews and that it was "so selective." Not surprised at all the culture is shit

It really has horrible culture. I can’t say for every coverage group but at least for the one I’m on it’s quite terrible. I would recommend that anybody coming into the workforce find another employer as it can quite ruin your perception of the workforce and burn you out. Not every workplace is as horrible as this one. I feel for you because I can see firsthand how you would have experienced that. Best of luck and in this case I’m sure the grass is greener.

I believe that group had two first years quit before they hit the six month mark. Dude let’s directors and associates grind analysts to the point they are passing out on the desk (happened to multiple analysts in the last two years I’m told). Truly disgusting group and culture

On of their analysts passed out at work bc he pulled so many all nighters. I think another dude had some health issue as well. MD’s didn’t care lmao
I heard Monday - Friday ~09am - 2/3am and Saturday ~10h and Sunday ~15h workdays are happening a lot.
Heard of one team who had to work till 3AM everyday and then had to jump on a 7AM call with MD in Europe to check in again.

The firm is now trying to get in front of mega funds more but has been very unsuccessful. The issue is that a lot of the partners in MD just don’t have great relationships these mega funds
