Can you invest in stocks when you start working in the private side?
Hey WSO community,
Just wondering say if I invest in the stock market with some active holdings in specific tickers and I join IB full time, what happens to them and can I still trade single-names even if I do not work on a deal that involves that party? What is the general rule for IB analysts to invest or trade? Thanks!
Each firm has a restricted trading list, and if you want trade stocks on that list, you have to seek an approval from compliance beforehand.
So are you implying as long as the ticker is not getting on the restricted list, I would be to invest freely in that? Thanks btw for providing the answer!
