canada IB

As a sophomore in a Canadian target I am networking and preparing for the IB marathon but I am interested in what internships I could aim for this summer if my efforts in securing an IB internship for the third year are not successful so I have another chance in the future years of breaking in and not eat shit. First year I did a corporate banking internship in Europe. Also do other positions like sales&trading or equity research require as have networking as IB?

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated :)

U ideally should have had already landed a SA for next summer to be competitive for 2026 SA. That said you should always network no matter what but shoot out an app whenever you see it because you have nothing to lose

Assuming you're going on Canada schedule, don't worry, you're ahead of pace.

Look to participate in the pensions recruiting, equity research recruiting and boutique IB recruiting.

Then get going on SA 2026 in late fall/winter semester.

In terms of timelines and when stuff opens, just reference the Canada IB SA2025 thread and it should be p similar
