Capital One to Acquire TripleTree
Thoughts on this development? Interesting foray by Capital One into the healthcare space.
What’s in their wallet? Sounds like TripleTree is now.

Reading more articles. Looks like TTCP remains independent.
No surprise, the groups have functioned separately anyway. TTCP does lower middle market growth equity deals. TT is doing much larger middle market HC transactions.

HW is clearly more generalist than TripleTree, but I agree that it’s similar in the sense of a commercial bank jumping in the water.
CapitalOne did have some investment bankers before, but hardly as powerful as the credit/consumer/commercial banking machine. Cheers
Capital One recently bought an ADG boutique based near their VA/DC HQ - seems like they are trying to move upmarket with IB services
KippsDeSanto, interesting that they are buying pretty high-quality boutiques. Most of the time when you hear about commercial banks buying IBs these days, they are buying unknown firms.
Definitely. However, from the article it seems that TT will remain under its own brand which makes this interesting. I would've thought they would try to merge these aquisitions under one investment bank.
I'm curious to see how this will impact TripleTree. They were already experiencing incredible growth in the past 2 years so it will definitely be something interesting to follow.
Which banks advised?
Vault 100 firms Arnold & Porter and Kirkland advised Capital One and TripleTree, respectively. Broadhaven, a financials boutique, advised TripleTree.
