car insurance

I will be starting as an analyst in July and was wondering if I will need to keep some form of car insurance even though I will not be owning a car? I thought you had to have proof of insurance to keep your license but I really don't know. If you do need non-owner car insurance, whats a good rate to pay?

Since you will have cars driving you everywhere, you'll never really need to drive on your own. Even if you're not in NYC you probably won't have to drive much as long as you're in a major city like SF.

If you end up working in the suburbs somehow (this is pretty rare but satellite offices can be set up here), usually a car and thus car insurance would be required.

I think that might depend on the state laxguy2007, but I think the short answer is no. When I moved to a new state and obtained a drivers license, I never had to show proof of insurance; All I needed was proof of residency and proof of identification.
