Career advice on getting an IB gig as an intern in debt fund (unusual)

Hi guys,

Keeping it short, i went to a semi target Uk engineering school (think bristol, edinburgh, durham). I landed a gig as an intern for a debt fund working with credit analysts on High yield bonds and leveraged loans. Ultimately I do want to get in the cap markets sideof things/IB. But i understand its difficult to get in even with relevant experience. I got a gig with EY's corporate finance department starting september. Would i kill all chances of transitioning if i go down that route? I know rothschild hire from Big 4, but thats not a guarantee (i guess nothing is certain in life). i just dont want to call it a day too early. Its also difficult for me to take another internship given ill be turning 24 in august (feeling old already!).

Any advice is appreciated. Thank you
