Career change - IT to IB

Coming up on 1 year (July) working in IT/enterprise risk consulting at big4. I also interned here for 2 years. Day to day work is IT support for audits (FAIT), SOX compliance etc. I’d like to make a career change by the end of the summer if not sooner to REGL IB and eventually REPE and would really appreciate some advice on on what the best path for this is whether that’s education or a steppingstone job. Am I better off trying to switch to a role internally first such as TAS? Also, are there any diversity programs for recent college graduates or are those typically for undergrads?
