Career Progression in BBs

I am about to intern in the IB division of a BB bank in HK. I was wondering as to what all factors determine one's career progression, particularly in the IB division. As in, what should one be good at, to keep moving up the ladder really fast? The few things that I identified are impeccable professional behaviour, excellent communication, good hold over corporate finance etc.. Are there any more and among even these, which ones are more crucial than others. I am referring particularly someone who joins as an associate after B-school

That's the goal then...VP by 30 would be nice. Start work at 23 (assuming I get a graduate position after this summer), so it's doable, eh? Gonna be hard work, but it'll be fun!
