elite boutiques are overrated as eff. pay range is from 30-80 at my firm and pay has nothing to do with iq (100% politics). bulge brackets paid really well this year and had initiatives to protect analysts but boutiques didn't do anything so even if you got top bucket at a boutique it wasn't worth it. if you have friends at a boutique talk to them - they will let you in the over-hyped secret of the "elite boutique"

Wah wah wah; I suppose you would've been better off if they paid you based on all the deals yoy sourced instead, right?

 

If he had an offer he would have known what they pay so reply only if you can contribute something meaningful. I have a friend who has an offer from centerview for the summer, I believe they are giving him 80k base annualized and 3k housing stipend.
