Chances of getting elite boutique or GS/MS?

Hi I'm an international student from a non-target school, returning to school soon after military service and was wondering my chances of getting an elite boutique or GS/MS IBD SA

Non target Overall GPA 3.8/4.0, Major 4.0/4.0 (Finance)

2 months at McKinsey's Asia office 4 months at deep value hedge fund in Asia 3 months at Carlyle's growth capital team in Asia

some scholarship at an investment society in New York 2 years of military experience (including UN Peace Keeping Operation) Completed CFA LV2

Zero chance. Don't bother applying.

But seriously, all that matters for you is networking. If you don't network, you won't get an interview. Your GPA, McKinsey, and neat background don't matter if you haven't talked to anyone. People at target schools have the benefit of OCR, but you won't get the looks unless you have someone going to bat for you.

 

I served in the military and cfa institute in my country counts 2 yrs in school and military experience as total of 4 yrs that makes me eligible for taking the exams
