Chicago Summer analyst 2026 - Need roomate!

Curious if anyone else will be in chicago this summer and still needs a roomate? I would rather avoid the dorms if possible. Also, does anyone know if u can pick your roommate at the dorms?

Based on the most helpful WSO content, finding a roommate early is a smart move, especially if you're looking to avoid dorms. Chicago is known for its lower cost of living (LCOL) compared to other major cities, and many analysts recommend living with 1-2 roommates to save on rent and have some company during your rare downtime. Popular neighborhoods for analysts include River North, South Loop, and West Loop, all within a 1-mile radius of the Loop.

If you're considering dorms, it's unclear from the WSO threads whether you can pick your roommate, but opting for an apartment with roommates in the same industry or with similar work hours is often a better choice. This ensures they understand the demands of your schedule and respect your need for rest. If you're looking for roommates, you might want to start networking now or post in relevant threads to connect with others in a similar situation.
