Choosing an EB over GS/MS

Below is a tweet from Kyle Tucker, who worked at Apollo and Viking. He mentions how he recommends students take GS (any group) over any of the boutiques because of the prestige aspect. I personally turned down some of the more well known BB for an "s tier" offer (think level of CVP, HL RX, LAZ RX). I am wondering if anyone can weigh in on the implications of choosing to start a career at a "lesser known" boutique rather than GS, like Kyle mentioned.

People on this forum are brainwashed and for the majority of them never even went within an Investment Bank.

GS will warry a higher prestige than any EBs aforementioned, just because no one outside of finance bros' circles know what it is.

The tweet is absolutely spot on and no one care about PJT RSSG in real life, but I can sure tell you that everyone know what GS is.

But how much does it matter what people know "in real life" if your career is always within finance? For example, when recruiting for strong investment firms, most HH and ppl at firm will know the strong boutique groups. Or am I missing what youre saying?
