Citi EID 2021

Thought I'd make a thread for those who got accepted to Citi EID 2021. Just received an acceptance without networking. I'm wondering from past participants how much this program actually helps for SA recruiting, and if it results in an interview or not?

I dont.. but if a bunch of people here got accepted they would be posting about it, just like people do on GS exploratory programs. Even looking at the OG posts there were a bunch of people, and now there gone.

Yea, makes sense. I got into the GS exploratory thing too but it doesn't seem much more than a virtual zoom session thing. I think the Citi EID is more serious, meaning they're more likely to interview the Citi EID candidates.

Anyways, in Citi EID you're paired up with a banker for 5 weeks, who spends a few hours per week with you (according to upperclassmen who did the program last year). Thus, they obviously don't want to waste bankers' time, so they can only pick a few people for the program unlike GS exploratory which is just some zoom sessions.

Dang, I'mma grind as much as possible then. Do they ask easier questions since it's earlier? And any tips on "how to play your cards right"?

From my experience bulge bracket banks have a pretty structured interview process at the undergraduate level so everyone tends to get the same questions, study up technicals / deals etc - use the mentor as guidance to questions you have, insight on the bank and as a first impression - they decide if you get an interview to HR and can usually give you good heads up for what to expect in interviews

They send out all decisions for one region at the same time, so I know that all of Houston came out yesterday since that's what I got in, and I think NY came out today, so if you're in another location you might still have a chance.

I got a first-round invite yesterday, all first rounds are next week and superday the week after. Also did your mentor tell you if he was recommending you or not? It's based on that
